“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”
Nelson Mandela
Some children are not in school on a daily basis due to poverty, chaotic home lives, discrimination or being engaged in child labour. They have to purchase their own books and stationary, so we assist with this. We provide shoes and clothing, as without these basics they may not attend school.
What hope do children have for their future? For many poor families, the cost involved is prohibitively expensive. All children need a bag to carry their books to school. Children from certain communities are not easily integrated into main stream schools, because of prejudice, parents and authorities. Many of these children are required to work to boost meagre family income, by collecting plastic and cans from garbage, or begging on the streets.
